Feb 27, 2017 Pre-Trip Info-Nhi Ha

I have just a couple "hot off the press" tidbits to share with you. Both relate to Nhi Ha, located a grenade's throw from the former DMZ.

First of all, let's talk about piglets. In my last correspondence, it was mentioned that piglets would soon be distributed to five selected families in Nhi Ha. Well, with temps unseasonably cool in that region right now, Nhung feels it best to delay distribution until my arrival in April. So, with more lead time, I'm now really, really hoping to be able to provide ten piglets.

I already know that the need is critical in that tiny hamlet, which was blasted to smithereenes when I fought the battle there in May '68. It was a desolate & destroyed no man's land. Now I am optimistically & stubbornly holding out hope that somehow we can provide a total of ten families with a female piglet. And, you may not know this, but I can be one stubborn son-of-a-gun. Anyway, if you would like to help with the Nhi Ha piglet project, a breeding-quality female piglet is $60...personally delivered by me.

Now to Nhi Ha Kindergarten. A couple months ago, we bought a set of cubbies for that school. They are such excellent quality that I decided to provide two more sets. I am now pleased to announce that the two addition cubbies have been delivered. Those little kids are so darned cute.
