April 11, 2017 0915 Vietnam Time Hoi An

Due to the delay in pig availability at Nhi Ha, I'm in Hoi An for a few days of "regroup" time. The problem is that I really suck at "downtime'. If not busy, I'm restless. I look forward to Friday, when I'll push north to Hue. With the guidance and coordinating ability of Khanh (Hearts for Hue), we'll be distributing 1,000 chickens to 20 families with disabilities. I'll also be visiting Ms. Hanh, the dear lady born with no arms. We have already provided her with ducks and a pig, but this year I have a special surprise for the always-smiling Ms. Hanh. Another visit will be to Mr. Thuong, who has just stubs for hands. Yet, he works his tail off and accomplishes much. He has chickens, ducks and pigs. We also funded a new pig pen and pump for his well. Then comes our one-legged ARVN veteran, who makes amazing woven-wood trays. I'm hoping that he can make a couple smaller trays that will fit in my pack. We proved ducks for him last year. Khanh and I will also visit a school and the boat people. I'll include a couple photos to highlight these folks. I've also thrown in a couple extras.

OK, that's it for now. I'll muddle through these next few days and am eager to get to Hue and back to work!

Neil
