April 11, 2017 1315 Vietnam Time Downtown Hoi An

Reporting in from downtown Hoi An, where the temp is right at 100F with, of course, sky-high humidity. My thought was to have a couple pairs of shorts made here in Hoi An, the tailoring capital of Vietnam. I first went to Be Be's Tailor Shop, reportedly the best in town. But, the price was too high for me. Wandering on, I stopped at a little store for something cold to drink...and was offered a one-hour massage for 200,000 VND...less than $9. That's double the price that I've seen up north. Anyways, it's too hot to have someone working me over. Right now I'm sipping a glass of "fresh beer", which is made and delivered to establishments daily...$ .13/mug. Now that price is hard to beat...almost 8 mugs for under $1.

I took the hotel shuttle downtown this AM, but will walk back. It's gonna be a hot one, though. It's only about 2.5 km.

Will head out now.....Neil
